Meet "Mein Schiff 3" cruise ship

(This blog is under construction)

Having taken a cruise on the best ship of TUI Cruses, I am delighted to present this comprehensive review in videos, pictures, menus, daily programs, etc., and comments that will guide you through this product that is brand new and completely unknown to cruisers outside Europe.

Let me introduce this excellent cruise ship that is without a doubt the best large cruise ship built after 2010 and one of a few best cruise ships afloat.
This brand new design should not be confused with Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2 - formerly older Celebrity ships.
The ships are named in a very unusual way.
They all are called "Mein Schiff" (that means "My Ship") with numbers added.
The Mein Shiff 4  is  about to commence her maiden voyage as I am writing this text.
Another ship is under construction.
"3", "4" and "5" are almost identical sister ships from which the Mein Schiff 3 appears to be a half step above.

MS Mein Schiff 3 ("MS" stands for "Motor Ship" - she has a diesel-electric propulsion system) is still a brand new ship built by STX Finland in 2014.

The ship is 293.3 m (953 feet) long.
Tonnage: about 99,500 GT
Passengers: 2,506
Cabins: 1,253
Crew: 1,000

The first look from outside.
Does Mein Schiff 3 resemble Celebrity Solstice?
Yes she does!

It is not surprising.
TUI Cruises is affiliated with Royal Caribbean.
Celebrity Cruises is a part of Royal Caribbean International - that is the link.

These are two notes I can make about Mein Schiff design:
1. Yes, it resembles Celebrity Solstice class in many ways (inside and outside)
2. The Solstice ship planning is only a starting point. The result is a tremendous improvement.

Below is a comparison photo of Mein Schiff 3 vs Celebrity Solstice class.
The dark glass "belt" on Deck 5 around the stern covers extra charge restaurants on Celebrity.
The "belt" has been removed from Deck 5 on Mein Schiff giving way to open deck space.
Also note that Deck 4 aft on the Mein Schiff 3 has become  public area.

The focal point of the stern view is a "Glass Diamond" on Deck 5.
This beautifully designed lounge is a hub for various extra charge venues.

A double-deck suite (Deck 15)
This is  relatively compact suite. The key feature is a private verandah located right above the suite. Verandah back door provides access to "suites only" forward sundeck.

"Atlantic" Dining Room
There are three separate areas that feature different menus: Classic, Mediterranean and Eurasia.
This is where Quantum of the Seas "dynamic dining" comes from.

Yes, of course...
